CLANRATS

Clanrats!  They are the basic unit of a Skaven army.  This is a step-by-step guide to painting these basic troops.

1. Prime the models dark brown.  You can use Games Workshop's Scorched Brown, but I used Krylon Camo Dark Brown.  After they dry, drybrush them with Bestial Brown.

2. Paint the clothing Regal Blue (you can also use other colors to distinguish units, such as Scab Red).

3. Paint the weapons and armor plates Boltgun Metal.

4. Paint the hands, feet, nose, ears, and tail Dwarf Flesh.

5. Paint the teeth, claws, and wrappings Bleached Bone.

6. Finally, give the entire model a wash of Tamiya Smoke.  You should be able to find this in any model store.  If they don't have it, just ask them to order it.

Shields - Shields are remarkable easy.  After the primer dries, paint the outer band Brazen Brass and the boss Boltgun Metal.  Then wash over the whole thing with Brown Ink, and attach it to the model.

With just a little work, you have an impressive unit of Clanrats!
