Special Units are extremely
specialized troops that appear on the battlefield less often than basic regiments. There
is a maximum number of Special Units that can be fielded, and this varies with the size of
the army (see "Armies of the Han Empire"). |
GREATER NOBLE
CHARIOT WARRIORS |

Chariot Warriors are nobles who can afford chariots and
teams, and the luxury of having a driver to handle the horses while
they fight. |

Unit Size: Each Chariot model is a single
unit.
Crew: Two Nobles.
Weapons and Armour: The crew are equipped
with hand weapons, shields, and light armour. The Chariot has scythed
wheels.

Armour Save: 2+.
Options:
- Any unit may be equipped with spears (+2 pts per model),
longbows (+4 pts), bills (+2 pts) or javelins (+1 pt).
- The horses may be equipped with barding (+2 pts per
model).
- Any Chariot may include up to two extra Warhorses to pull
it for +5 pts per Warhorse.
- When permitted, a chariot can carry a single character who
displaces one crewman automatically. The displaced crewman is lost
and his value is not refunded.

The Greater Nobles are noble Han cavalry that
come from the sons of the great nobles of the provinces. They are
eager to show their skill in battle and to build their reputation.
To them, honour and prowess at weaponry is a way of life. |

TARTARS |
Points/model: 27 |
Tartars are the wild nomadic tribesmen who
roam the plains of the north, raising their herds of horses and
half-wild cattle. They are hunters from horseback and great scouts.
It is said that a Tartar can ride before he is weaned from his
mother's milk. These wild horsemen seem to be one with their horse
that they are riding upon, and can do great feats of horsemanship. |
